Fight Club II

As a continuation on the last post, I have been getting a beta battle system down. This means creating formulas for certain attacks and battle mechanics for aroused/neutral enemies...

Along with the screenshots, there are some things you should know about the battle system...

1 - A new skill has been added to the game. The 'seduce' skill has been implemented,  using it will run a 25-30% chance of further arousing the enemy. Yes, stronger versions of the skill will be obtainable as you get stronger/more experience/cash in some quests/etc...

2 - There is a new 'arousal capacity' for enemies. Basically, if you can manage to force the 'dying for it' status on them before they relieve their own arousal, then they surrender to you. This pulls up a short scene where they beg you to fuck them, and you can choose whether or not you want to regardless if you are aroused or not. You still get loot drops this way too!

3 - Enemy attack patterns change. You have two attack branches: Aroused and Neutral. Neutral, or unaffected by arousal states, means they will only focus on hurting you. Aroused means that they will be unable to actually attack, due to them being hindered by their own lust. Instead, they will either try to relive themselves or to arouse the player.

4 - Loss rape scenes will vary. Originally, I was going to only put one scene per encounter in, but there will be a randomized scene of maybe 3 possible outcomes if you lose to the enemy. A few of these are still under development, and the possible scene outcomes will vary with each monster type.

And just in case you weren't already looking forward to the shiny new additions to the game...I present to you the quick travel/map system! This will be accessible by the same house crystal in your inventory, by the way.

There are also some notes to keep in mind about the new map system~

1 - Outside maps WILL change with the seasons. The town and the beach, for example, will teleport you to the correct seasonal map each time. Which also means the previews will change based on this.

2 - Enemy zones will NOT be directly accessible.  It would suck to teleport somewhere and be immediately bombarded by monsters, huh? For example, instead of dropping you off in the middle of the woods, you will be able to teleport to the abandoned tent inside the woods. This means that you will have to find a safe zone, like a tent or empty cave, before you can teleport to enemy areas.

3 - There could be some new bugs. Now, this is pretty obvious. There is always a risk for new errors and bugs when making new additions, but I completely expect there to be bugs with this one. Mainly, conflicts with the weather system. For now, it seems I have gotten it to work pretty well, but I am only one player where as you guys are several.

4 - Special/Hidden events might be easier. Are you a fan of the orgy club at the hospital? Don't like all that exhausting walking? Do you get confused on WHEN you can go there? Good news! If you have unlocked the club, the option to teleport there will be added every afternoon! However, this will ONLY happen when 3pm hits, and ONLY if you unlocked it...

5 - Pagers will probably be rendered useless. Well, we already have the teleportation system tied to the crystal now...So likely, it will also be used to teleport to work instead as well. We may either remove the pagers completely, or perhaps find an alternate use...Most likely we will just remove them.

I'm hoping to get most of the map locations ready for use, and a few of those loss H scenes finished before the next release.

  1. Well, well, well...
    Well.
    Well!
I'll just stop myself right there.

So this is the new teleport system, huh? I won't lie, I was expecting something fancy like a menu full of big pictures for each area, but you know what they say: first make it work, then's the artwork!

Erm, nobody says that, actually. I just made that up. But moving along!

The arousal system seems fitting, and surrendering because they're hot and bothered? Man, that's genius! I wonder what the Whip's going to do now...?

Well, since I completely discharged myself on the last posts, I don't really have any suggestions. Well, maybe Demon Izuna having dark magicks and a Soup Store joke (Miko: WHY THE HELL ARE YOU BUYING CLOTHES ON A SEX SHOP?!) but the last one's just me being weird.

The updates are coming steadily, that's for sure! A nice battle system and a teleport system. Seems like stuff is progressing nicely.

Well, I sure hope it stays this way, then! Good luck with your giant to-do list!
... For some reason, that didn't sound as encouraging as I hoped it would.

P.S.: You truly are clever, Nekomatic...
To think that you'd save your porn inside the CPU's hard drive and use the external for funny videos of cats instead... I should have suspected as much when you didn't scream in rage as I took your HD...
You played me like a damn fiddle... I still have much to learn. As a self-punishment, I shall go on for an entire week without XXX-rated material.

This shall not happen again. Mark my words.

    1. Our first idea was to have one big overworld map, with each segment divided into teleportable areas. However, there are some indoor maps that would make this a bit difficult for an overworld map to utilize...

If this system works out better than anticipated, then this will be the final design. However, with a good back-up system in place, this also gives us room to experiment with the overworld map system. Should it go horribly wrong or we find that we just don't have the resources, or even fin incompatibility with other features, then at least we have this back up system to fall back on.

The entire battle system is beta as well, but it's playable. We planned to make all the sex skills usable, with a select few being effective/ineffective for each enemy encounter type. However, this would take a bigger portion of time, and would make some skills 100% useless in battle since we really only have the kitsunes in the game...So, for now, we just have 'seduce' [which you will learn automatically right before you enter the woods, the npc blocking the way has been changed to provide this function.] acting as a demonstration for how the 'moderately effective' attacks will be.

As for demon Izuna/Izu, we think gradual perks/cuts will be added in. If you are familiar with the elder scrolls series, imagine it to be similar to the vampire afflictions. Perhaps she would be more prone to, and hindered by, arousal, but would have x % increase in her strength stats...

And of course, always set up a default 'stash' for looters to find in such situations, never lose your cool. Let the raiders think they have you in a corner and then let them discover their mistakes...

    2. An overworld map does sound interesting. And very hard to do. Maybe in-doors could be implemented into the overworld? Like, from the outside you see the walls, but once you go through the doors they become invisible and you see the interior.

Something like that would also allow you guys to program NPCs to actually walk around instead of simply staying on the same area, since they *would* stay in the same area!

A telephone feature or something similar would have to be added in order to keep track of them, though. You call them and something like this appears:

-Ask location (NPC gives a few scripted pointers, maybe an interesting conversation, but don't wait for you. Useful for possible events or when you're just bored.)
      -Hang Out
---You come here (Izuna gives a few scripted pointers, NPC walks to her general direction.)
---I go there (Same as Ask for location, difference being that they will wait for you, preferably on a nearby bench if they find one.)
      -Ask on a date
      -Talk
      -(Trigger for story-based event)

I'm not even sure so many routines would be allowed, so it might be better to separate the overworld into parts, but no "fade to black change area" when you exit a part, maybe a seamless transition like Pok***n.

Random Suggestion: A hideout where you can move and place stuff (a.k.a. sprites with a block property) or the option to do so in Izuna's room, with certain furniture having functions, like the PC.

Of course, those are just suggestions. I know when something takes a lot of work, and this is pretty much remaking the whole game. It IS awesome, but everything on the Features list should be green before you guys even think about doing something like this.

Believe me, if you start, you won't finish it for a looooong time. Maybe this would be better for 3.0. Or 5.0.
It's work as hell times ten thousand, and I seriously recognize it.

I care about how much other people work because I'm lazy myself. Isn't that strange? It feels backwards or something.

I shall take your teachings about protecting my stash to heart, Nekomatic. Although I am not sure about their effectiveness when I have a notebook. Or when I do not have an angry pseudo-rabid chimera-thingie as I am inclined to believe you have from the snarls and occasional cock-a-doodle-doo I heard inside your room.

Are you doing poultry transmutations?! That's plain madness! It goes against all we fought for! Well, all I fought for, at least, but my point stands!

My search for mapping and scripting knowledge didn't even begin as the evil Real Life stands in my way at every turn. Such evil cannot be understood...

As for a fight to the death against Paws for the right of mapping, I don't think I should worry about it. After all, I shall be her loyal minion!

      *Random thunder and ghostly laughter*

... Did I just sell my soul? Aw hell, might as well go all the way. Should I say "Master", " Mistress", "My Lord(ess)" or "My liege"? And do I get the black cloak now or I need to rank up a bit? Pretty sure "Suggestion Minion Guy" is still at the bottom.

    8. Unlimited Double-Post Works!
      I'm bugged. Very.
I-I'll just exit now before my message posts itself again. I'd ask to ignore this, but it's impossible. -_-

  2. Does it means we will be able to use sex skills in battle now? I'm waiting to use those footjobs and etc in my enemies.

    1. In later versions yes. For now, since we only have one encounter type, the default 'moderate effectiveness' skill has been demonstrated in the new seduce skill. We are planning to change this one we have 2 or 3 encounter types to prevent useless skills.

  3. I would like to say SMASHING(You see what i did there?).
Now that that's out of the way... how would one learn the new seduction skills, through a form of skill tree or will they be trained? Or will they be learned from various npcs by trial?
Also, the house crystal/teleporter sounds like a really convenient idea. I would suggest that the crystal's list have info on whether we can tp to a special event or not like having the title greyed out when unavailable. Also would be pretty sweet to have a notification system to let us know when the event is available(for weekly events and such), the pager could probably be repurposed for this.
Looks like the game is becoming alot of work. If this is a pet project of yours don't let it become a chore(Oh the hypocrisy...). We will keep up with our suggestions you can count it! But, that does not mean you have to do them. Unless you are mainly aiming to please the crowd(which you are believe me) try not to prioritize stuff that you don't like. If there is anything that i would like from you(as a member of the crowd) is... keep in touch.
    Loving the work Nekomama.

    1. So far, the seduction skill is learned right before you are allowed entry to the woods. This also means that the original npcs blocking the cemetery and woods have been replaced, giving you more of a quest than a simple choice prompt. Honestly, it would be cool if we programmed a tree for the skill, but that might take a bit longer than the option for them to be trained...

As for the notification, I might add that in to make it more clear when something is ready to go to.

And thank you for your words of praise = u=
