Happy New Years!



      Fitting for the game, New Years Day is probably the perfect time to launch the demo. Which we have. Now, there are some things to keep in mind with the demo...

1. - The game will not have you play in Noras house. This was drafted as the perfect 'testing map' for some of the main features.


2. - There are features that are still not covered in the demo, especially ones tied to the npcs. Such features include the relationship system, the construction system, item gathering, etc etc etc...


3. - It IS a demo, and therefore critique this early in the development is heavily recommended. There are more experimental parts, such as a needs HUD I made from scratch, that will have more added to them in the actual game, or will be smoothed out.


4. - The main features are either very tiny or heavily exaggerated. Again, it being a demo, the systems in there are only a taste of the full features that will be developed in the real game. The needs fill up WAY faster than they will in the real game, only because it's made that way to better test them out in early gameplay.


With all that in mind, let's hope the new remake starts off on a good foot!

  2. Thanks for the demo.

    Food, I think, should be streamlined into energy.

    Why?

    1.) Losing food for standing still means you can die from having to get up from the computer.

    2.) If you lose food value from walking, this discourages exploration.

    3.) Food and energy, in a biological sense, are the same thing.

    So what would cost energy? Anything more elaborate than opening the pantry/fridge. The player is going to want to be masturbating, sneaking lewds, earning money, harvesting things via foraging outside and fighting monsters. Energy can be aimed at all those tasks.

    The arousal system is fairly neat, how about a commando option? A no-panties thrill could work in short bursts, but have no effect on any seasoned pervert character.

    Other actions that could be short-term arousal boosts could include shaving(trimming, because vibrations?) pubic hair? ( I have a friend who swears she gets off on shaving. )

    I think other activities leading up to being sent off to live with the aunt could involve an electric tooth brush. :p

    Or stealing a cucumber from the fridge!

    The "heart attack death" was so fucking blunt, I laughed, that was dark as fuck :D

  3. So here's my current thoughts. While playing through I noticed a few odd quirks, like your mother standing out side of the text box while the MC was behind it, a going near the dining room table makes you go under it, theres an odd white button in the MCs room, nothing too big there.

    But the one part that did concern me is the Food bar. I kept that bar toggled on (i like seeing my info at all times) and was extremely hungry so I ate, and it didn't go down, so I ate and ate.... I ate all my food but it didn't budge, until I toggled it off and back on again. I think that is worth taking a note of.

    Other than those bugs, I know you made the HUD from scratch, but I would like to request it possibly being a bit smaller, and not solid black? It takes up a good portion of the screen and blocks out everything. Perhaps if possible a translucent HUD, or perhaps have just the bars themselves with no background, smaller, and with the words health, energy, lust, and hunger inside of the bar itself instead of an icon to take up less room. Also while I like the idea of lust increasing, I think it would make more sense for hunger (or a fullness meter) to decrease over time. That might just be my time playing Don't Starve but eh, leave that one as it is. Curious though if you plan to have hunger increase faster with pregnancy, or have lust increase faster or slower with it (since it effects different women differently).

    Other recommendations I would make is to maybe make it a bit more obvious to use the paper towels in the bathroom to clean semen up off the floors and walls. I was playing a futa girl and the first masturbation session sent it flying on the walls, and while the panties could be cleaned just by touching, it took a moment to realize there were towels in the bathroom.

    Altogether I like the idea of these new systems and can't wait to see them more fully realized, as well as what new characters you have planned. In the original game I found myself really loving Elle's character and story arc, finding her apartment torn apart like that and slowly opening up to her true feelings, I loved it and hope to see characters as well made in Rebrth....

    Actually that brings up the question, I know we are in a new town and all but will we possibly be seeing the grandchildren, or children of other characters besides Izuna?

  4. Having just played it I was going to post about some bugs, but they have pretty much been mentioned in the previous 3 comments. Tho one thing I will say is it would be really nice if the needs box in the top left were see through like the time box in the top right.

  5. Something I noticed... After eating all the food in one go, the hunger meter stopped working meaning it didn't rise anymore. Also I found it bit weird that even though you can not go out you can keep opening door.

  6. So most of what I would have commented on has already been pointed out. One glitch I don't think has been noted yet though, if you're downstairs when Nora leaves, you'll see her walking down the stairs to the door, and then when you go upstairs, there she'll be again walking out of her room.

    Overall I liked it. I can't wait to see how this game will develop. I especially look forward to seeing the six characters from the contest earlier.

    On a side note, any chance you could put the original game back up for those who want to play it? It may never be finished, but there was still a lot of good content there.

  7. I also found couple of bugs not mentioned here bu first, time for a review...

    I really liked the way how you have implemented selecting name, gender and genitals.

    Also the basic idea for different meters were good, but as stated in the other comments as well - I think it still needs some thinking over. I for instance died several time before I could figure out where to get more food so maybe hunger could be something that doesn't increase when walking/running.

    Another think that I found bit odd is that the lust increased the same time with the hunger... Yeah, I know this is a porn game but still...

    Maybe lust could build up much slower as the time goes but if your read a porn mag or peep somebody in the shower for instance it will have a significant increase.

    Otherwise this game seems to have lot of potential and I can not wait to see what awaits us in the outside areas...

    Anyway now for the bugs:
    Somebody mentioned the meters stopping to work when you eat all the food... I encountered the same but the meters started to work again once another event with characters mom occurred.

    Other thing that I noticed that if you had finished rummaging cabinets or interacting with something when characters mom started speaking, after dialogue finished you were doing the same as previously.

    E.g. If you had just closed the cabinet menu when the mother started speaking, after the dialogue finished you were once again in the cabinet menu.

  8. So, the demo's pretty good so far. I am quite thankful that in the final game the hunger likely won't go up as fast as it does now. Also, I find it amusing that if you find the key to Nora's bedroom and leave the key in her dresser you basically end up locking yourself in. XD

    I would also like to say: Damn, Nora's a MILF. Almost sad that there's nothing lewd you can do in her bedroom (aside from being naked, I guess).

    1. Aside from fooling around with her, it might be nice to have some innocent selfcest fun.

      I read this h-manga while back (sorry do not remember the name) where we had this guy who liked to dress up as a girl and admire himself on the mirror.

      One day when he was again playing with himself in front of the mirror he noticed that he had turned into a real girl and then her reflection (still man) came from the mirror to fuck her up.

      So just as an idea, if the player stares too much his/her reflection there could be a changed to fuck genderbended version of the character.

  9. One bug that I found and hasn't been mentioned yet is:
    When Nora comes back and take her bedroom key back, she doesn't take the unknown key with it. So, the unknown key stays in your inventory, but at the same time, it reappears in Nora's wardrobe/cabinet in her bedroom. I ended up with 3 unknown keys...

    One thing I would like for you to add to the game, would be an option, like for the hud, to make the character picture appear and disappear.

    Other than that, you are starting well. I can't wait to see the next version of the demo with more content

  10. This is probably because it's a demo. but hunger fills up so fast that unless Im stealing the food with unknown key I can't sate hunger fast enough. Not sure if food will refill in the cabinets, hope so.

    The mother also instantly teleports down stairs making it impossible to avoid her.

    I also had a bug where she came down stairs while entering the bathroom which caused a bug that lets you continue after the end. till you go downstair again only to trigger the game over after I saved.

  11. I just read about the reboot of the game. Although its disappointing to see the original Collars game terminated, I can certainly understand the reasons very well, being a programmer as well.

    Having glanced over the last few blog posts, I do wonder if some features will still be carried over from the old game. Breast expansion and pregnancy were both big catches for me. I also see numerous mentions of a "hunger" system. I could see weight-gain being a logical addition for that system for those that choose to Overindulge and eat too much.

    Good luck on the Collars reboot! I will still be checking in occasionally and see how things are progressing!

  12. It's been quite a while since I last checked this place. I can't help but wonder why the poll is still there if Collars has been rebooted...

    Well, things seem to be progressing well... Or at least they were three weeks ago. All things considered, I'd suggest you guys to do some sort of weekly post about how progress is going rather than stay silent until a new update. I mean, I don't want to sound ungrateful or just otherwise like a douchebag, but complete silence just makes it seem like absolutely nothing is happening, even though you guys are hard at work, and people stop checking the blog for good after a long enough time has passed. I mean, around July last year, I stopped checking the site, and the next post only came in September. Weekly posts would make the project feel alive to everybody who occasionally comes here, while no messages just push people away after a while.
    Well, that's just my two cents.

    That said, I'm completely aware of how removing stuff from an RPG Maker game is almost always more troublesome than just starting over. I had to do it myself quite a couple times. Still, I guess a cleaner start will make things progress way easier than before.
    Here's hoping for the best for the project.
