Scavenging through the Fallout
Yes, that is a pun. Yes, I may have spent the whole week before my new job started playing Fallout 4...
I may have no shame or regrets in that. But aside from my 7 day vacation, there are going to be some serious changes being made to the game. Due to some very repetitive and unfortunate occurrences, some dev team members had to be cut recently. This means stripping off a good chunk of content out of the game, including npcs and some plot lines...Annoying? Of course. A huge blow to the game? Oh, definitely. Time consuming? Indeed.
HOWEVER...
There is a silver lining to the aftermath of such a nuke blast to the game! Several spots are open for new characters, npcs and sub/non-npcs alike, concepts are ready to be freshly developed. This brings me up to my next topic...
I have decided to give you all a rare opportunity to directly alter the game...That's right. You get to pitch ideas for the new character, or even donate one yourself. If this sounds like something you would like to get in on, here is a slot list for the characters:
NPCS:
1-2 SLOTS [Vladimir is definitely getting cut, and possibly Silver as well]
SUB NPCS:
5 SLOTS [Mainly demons, but all areas are open]
The number of slots is a maximum, not necessarily a goal, but what we are really looking for are males, since 1 or 2 of the 3 male npcs are getting nixed. However, as long as we have one male added, the remaining slot can be filled with a female npc if needed.The rules have been transferred to the suggestion box.
Anyways, I think this is a great opportunity to make light of a serious blow to the game while I strip away all the leftover bits. Hopefully I will see some nice suggestions and you guys will have fun with this. Sorry again for the absence, and I am patching the game still so don't lose hope~
So before everyone goes a stormin their brains perhaps the fat of the process of this chance you give us can be trimmed some by the knowledge of what NPCs are being cut cause some ideas are gonna be garbage if certain NPCs are still around IE: If silver is still around a decent basic idea could be a female werewolf hunter but... that idea would be a waste of time to flesh out unless either silver is still there or that he WILL be replace by some other werewolf NPC

ReplyDeleteOther then having to alot of (specific) content gutted, i don't think it's as heavy a blow as it seems though that's just my take on the matter.

Yeah, it doesn't sound like it would be, but you have to keep in mind everything that ties into the parts getting cut:
DeleteThe characters, all the body change files, the outfits, the dialogue checks, the affinity levels with other npcs, the story/shop ties, the script parts that tie into numerous common events, the genderbends of said char and THEIR body profile files, etc...Not even getting started on the H scenes involving said character...
Taking this into consideration, it is a lot to hack out, and even more to replace...Also, I am glad you are considering this.

Those all some cool characters especially Silver, and i loved demons too they had some really promising plot roads open there...
Damn, that's a kick to the nuts, not pleasant at all.
I'd be happy if I were you, chuu. We were contemplating re-starting game project after that thing. with new characters and all cleaned up.
DeleteI'll be happy when the game is complete and is one of the best out there, one that can stand beside the other giants such as tits, coc, harem collector, the last sovereign, overwhored, aloneXP. Oh yes, only then i will be happy. :) Until then i will be... patient. And i suppose also hope that my character idea gets approved in suggestion box. xP
DeleteAnyways for the future - solution to any problem usually many bottles of vodka. Solves almost anything. Well, except the sudden realization that you're out of booze.
Also, it was a smart decision to not waste all that work you already put into the game. Too bad that part of it is going to be wasted anyway. Well, at least our mischievous bitch Izuna will remain <3
DeleteAt one hand, re-starting the game project would mean a lot of work and stuff, chuu. But even removing the content just removing the content we don't have the rights for anymore will be a lot of work! Not to speak about making up new one to fill the void, chuu... It would stall development, yes, yes it could, but, at the same time, and on the other hand, chuu, re-starting game project would also allow us to better portion our work, and, clean up the old scripts, very possibly making the game better in general. After re-building the base of the game, which would be a priority, chuu, we could focus on implementing new content and new date-able characters - one at a time. New monsters, new NPCS... Until there would be no space left in the database. Then We'd come together with Nekomama again, to start a new game project.
DeleteRestarting something from zero isn't as pretty as you make it out to be. You all likely get sudden surge of boredom and decide that you had enough of it. (Happened to me many times when i almost completed something then found some critical shortcoming and abandon it all cuz it's boring to rebuild everything again).
DeleteIt's always better to finish what you start or do not start it at all.
Not to mention that i saw potential in the current game, not in the unknown one that will pop in it's stead if you restart from zero. I imagine i am not alone in this.

Huh, you think so? I mean, chuu, I'm one ferocious, stubborn little furry bastard, so I usually try to finish whatever I start, chuu. It's gonna be a wee lil bit hard to work now, though, with the team reduced to 2...
DeleteWell there are peeps who make games solo soo 2 is still better than 1, and who knows maybe you guys will find other interested people depending on what you're looking for. Yup, just post a recruitment ad and see what happens. :)
DeleteD'aw. I found Silver a rather annoying character, but I do find it a bit disappointing to see Vlad stripped from the game.
