Beta Changes




So. Remember the whole pregnancy and birth system? We are enhancing that too. The old system was pretty basic, you go to sleep and get a text notification that you gave birth. Now, you actually go to the hospital with the father/futa-mother [only includes npcs, Rey, or Astaroth for now] and have varied dialogue depending on how much they like you. From there, you have 8 different appearances for girls and 8 for boys, one is selected at random upon birth and vary depending on the paternal input.

There is also a special variation of this scene if you are pregnant with a squid, since the entire system for that is quite different. But before all of this, there is also a new pregnancy symptom system added in. Each 'trimester' has a risk chance of nausea [1st], waking up late [2nd], or back pain [3rd]. These all only occur upon the start of the new day.


While I continue to skim through the games files and data, I keep finding old and untouched parts that could use enhancing. It is my desire to make sure that all the features have some extra detail added after the base structure has been put in. As the game progresses, these systems will have more and more added to them slowly, but with everything up to speed and organized, it should be much easier. So far I am satisfied with the new structures being placed in for the older scripts.

It should be noted that the newer features, mainly the alchemy section of the crafting system and such, are highly basic. For now, the location and item to activate the alchemy menu is a placeholder to make sure it is working fine. Once it has been tested and played with, a more permanent event will be made for it. Fatal Error




Well, that would be my luck. The day after my birthday and I get one hell of a gift: a dead pc.
My tower will absolutely not turn on, regardless of trying simple fixes like switching the cables and checking the outlets. Unfortunately, a pc that wont turn on means delays in the game. I will be checking into this and trying to pinpoint the exact cause of the problem, and try to fix it as quick as I can, but be aware that this could take a while. Sorry for the issues.

For now, I will try to keep up with everything by other means, like I am right now.

9/22/2015 Update: 

Good news! My computer booted up! It turns out it didn't die, but rather has problems with ventilation and therefore has been overheating recently. However, my pc IS reaching the 9 year mark, so I may have to build a new one soon. Whether this is a few weeks, 6 months, or 2 years down the line, it will have to be done eventually. For now, I will be keeping better care of my pc, making sure it stays cool after long use.

Sale Over

My, that's an awfully feeble walls this box has...

As the title says, the sale is over. This one is sorry to say that the results are: 0 commissions, thus 0 gathered shinies, chuu... It'd lie if it said it is not a little upset and... disappointed. All things considered... 

But let's let bygones be bygones, shall we...? Afterall, we have such wonderful season going on... Autumn with it's dying flowers, withering trees, and such a bright, bright haunting moon. Ohhh, yes, this one like this season, it does~ It twists this devious mind so deliciously. Quite fitting, with the eve of this season... All Hallow's Eve. You can expect things...or can you? This one is a little upset, still. Who knows, maybe yes, maybe no... favors for favors, anyone? Or does anyone want to put a soul at a stake? Are they tasty? Are they juicy? Innocently sweet, or ripe with seeping darkness...? It is thirsty. Perhaps it should eat some insolent minions.

Reconstruction and Improvement

 

Aside from the increasingly hectic clutter and issues going on, I have been continuing progress on the game. Sorry about the lack of updates on my end, and as usual, there are some serious systematic changes going on before the release. There are a few older scripts and menu options that were placed in the game a long time ago and never really had much work done on them, or they conflicted with other aspects of the game. The entire alchemy/extraction system has been stripped away and replaced with an easier, more flexible one. 


This has added a few new things to work on, on my end. Crafting has been divided into 3 sub-types so far: Smithing, Alchemy, and Cooking.

 

Smithing: Collecting ore and minerals to upgrade weapons and increase damage done during battles.

Alchemy: Making potions or items that affect the player or npcs, including arousal and bodily changes like futa making.
Cooking: Making food to either gift to npcs or eat for healing properties.

 

You can see where this will severely affect the game, and hopefully it makes the entire crafting system more user-friendly. This means I will have to make changes to certain books, maybe a few shops, and make new ingredient sources. Speaking of ingredient sources, I took it in my own hands to make some edits to plants for the new harvesting system.

I am not a master sprite maker, nor am I a tileset artist. However, the edits should be reliable indicators of when a plant or source is ready to harvest. Every source relies on a timer to spawn more items, varying from 120-900 real time seconds. More changes include coconut trees and pineapple bushes...There will be 5 trees in the main town that will be changed to apple trees.


Also, for anybody who hasn't kept up with the comments, a generous script donation has been made by a fellow user,  axelmherkor. For anybody who was waiting on a way to talk to npcs through a menu while they are followers, you can thank this guy. We are currently adjusting it to fit in with the other scripts.

 

Also under construction is the genetic system for Izuna's kids. I am trying a more 'randomized' approach with a greater variety in appearance. This will require some toying around with the current system, and there is a choice that it won't work well enough to put in before the release, but here are some sample sprites for the kids.

 


 It should also be noted that if the whole thing is put in and works well, having children by npcs will change a bit. Instead of taking appearances from the npc by default, there should be a 50/50 chance of the child getting Izuna's colors instead. Like I said, this is all on the hopes that I get it working properly first...

  • Doodle - 5$ (it's a flat color, and contains up to two characters in chibi style. +2$ for every more character. Can be both digital, mixed and traditional)
  • Detailed Sketch - 7$ (It's a lineart with a pencil shading and details, contains one character. If you want it colored digitally in flat color, that makes it 10$. Every next character is +3$. Only traditional with optional digital coloring.)
  • Character pictures - 15$ (Contains one character, fully colored and shaded, with a simple background. Can be digital, can be traditional, can be mixed. Every next character +5$.)
  • Cute wallpapers - 10$ (It can contain anything that a doodle includes, on a pattern, simple, or  photo background. Why is it pricier than a doodle? Because you can send me your photo, and ask to draw chibi characters cuddled up or piled onto you. Contains up to two characters, plus 2$ for every next one.)
  • Pinups - 15$ (contains one character in high detail, done traditionally. Colored and shaded, on a simple background. every next character beyond the single one +10$.)
  • Character Sheets - 15-50$, depending on amount of references drawn for it. Basic character sheet includes a full body shot, a portrait - both fully colored and shaded. What you can add to it, is varied - it can be more body shots, different outfits, poses, AU versions - in either sketch, detailed sketch, flat color, or full detail. Price depends on that.)
  • Delicious porn - 20$ (Now, basic deal contains 2 characters, in full color and shading, with a background. You choose a position, atmosphere, kinks. every extra character is +7$. Additions and Items~

 

Now that I have 4 kitsunes scenes [herm and male + Izu and Izuna], an Izu remake for Elle's 1st date, and a remake for Miko's 1st date... It's a good time to take a break on scenes and tweak the system...

 

First off, more additions to the map system, all I have to do is make all the map files and tie them into the game. Some require more work than others, depending on how you access them at first and if they change to match the current season. Another issue is easily following the npc schedules. It can be pretty annoying having to load up your browser and look at the wiki just to find out where a certain npc is at that moment, so we added a feature for this in the game!


This was actually suggested from one of you guys, so thanks for that! We added a cell phone to the game, which will allow you to call any npc and ask them where they are. If they are at work or doing...something else, they won't pick up. If they do answer, along with being able to ask them their current location, there will probably be some more options soon.


Unfortunately, 'ghost busters' will not be a choice...


Whether or not there will be any other options, there will atleast be an easy way to tell where an npc is with minimal guess work. Really, if you know where each npc works and where the saucier walk-in events are, it should be pretty easy to fill in the blanks when they don't pick up. But even then, it tells you if the npc SHOULD be at work or not...

Some of the major bugs that got fixed are Izuna's bust system, which was in the game but unable to be seen due to a mistake in the script arrangement for that. Another one is that when buying the body change items from Eve, she should keep the same stock as before when you meet Felix...There are also some duplicate npc appearances that got nipped.
